Estonian Open Youth Chess Championship

Tournament

Estonian Open Youth Chess Championship is the competition, organized by Estonian Chess Federation in co-operation with Tonu Truus Chess School and Ministry of Culture. Tournament's mission is to find out number of canditates of Estonian Boys and Girls Closed Chess Championships 2006 and do it so, that our young talents can test their skills together with our neighbours in international level.

Participants

We organize two different tournaments separate for boys and for girls. It is necessary, that participants are born in 1988 or later. Invated players have special facilities.

Tournament is held January 3 - 6 in Paul Keres Chess House, Tallinn, Street Vene 29. Mailing address : Eesti Maleliit, Paul Kerese Malemaja,Vene 29., 10123 Tallinn. Information and preregistration till 29th December 2005.

Tournament System

9 rounds Swiss. In rounds 1 - 4 rapid chess control 25 min + 25 min for whole game is used. In rounds 5 - 9 time control is 1 hour 30 minutes + additional 30 seconds for every move. If players tie with equal score, then progressive coefficient is used (sum of points after every round).

Prizes

Boys: 1st place - 800 EEK; 2nd place 700 EEK; 3rd place 600 EEK; 4th place 400 EEK; 5th place 300 EEK Book prizes to the best 1-3.

Girls: 1st place - 800 EEK; 2nd place 600 EEK; 3rd place 500 EEK; 4th place 300 EEK Book prizes to the best 1-3.

Book prizes to best place born 1992 or later and 1994 or later.
